Was watching HGTV this morning and on Simply Quilts they were doing photo transfers. Wouldn't it make a great quilt with hometown pics on the squares.

Patrica, let me say that old barns are a sign of our state. Have you though of making a quilt with transfers of old quilts?

I take photos of old barns when I see one. One day when I have the time, I am going to sketch them and frame them for hanging. A lot went on in those old barns other than milking cows, slaughting a pig or storing hay.

I just wish I could sew good enough to make a quilt. ack!
        I've started on several.... but.....

I like to break the needles in my sewing machine. *blushing
        Broke my last one recently.

        My Grandma....btw, is still living. She's 95.
anyhoo, my Grandma can sew a tuxedo from a roll of toilet paper! lol
She use to upholster (sp?) furniture in her younger years. She was an expert!
She could make something that looked like it needed to go to the dump..... look like something from a showroom floor. *sigh...... I look like her... why can't i sew like her?!?! hee hee!

        ....and I love barns too!

My mother found out that her local community college lets seniors take classes for $15. including upholstery - using _their_ heavy equipment! after 3 semisters of recovering everything in her house, my brothers, and a project for Christmas in April, she's moving on to carpentry, and I think next is glass making. what a deal.
